Polesie Horse Trial :

The trail leads through the Lublin Polesie and Vołyń.A tourist here meets varied terrains with numerous lakes, unique flora and fauna, vast areas of virgin forests, clean air and beautiful scenery. Equestrian Polesie Trails run through: Polesie National Park, three parks (Poleski, Sobiborski, Chelm), and a number of reserves (Lake Orchów, Warehouse, Tortoise Mud, Brudzieniec Lake, Three Lakes, Małoziemce, Serniawy, Bacchus, Brzezno, Roskosz) .

An unquestionable advantage of the trail is a section which runs along the Bug River - the only wild river not transformed by man, which forms the border of the European Union.

In this landscape of today's "borderlands" of the Republic of Poland horses are perfectly composed. They were always close to humans. During technological progress they no longer form the basis of existence. Increasingly they became part of sports, hippotherapy and recreational in nature.

Anyone who starts the adventure with horses has to know a lot about their behavior and ability to handle them. Before heading to the horse walk, we should learn something about the behavior, needs and physiology of our four-legged companions. After that we can safely go into the field.

To meet the expectations, the members of the Regional Association of Municipalities Sawin and in collaboration with the Horse-breeding Centre "Żurawiejka" in Bukowa Mała , developed a project to create a professional horse-riding routes. It was created 280 km of Polesie Horse Trail, the first in the Lublin region, one of the longest in the country. In implementation of the project there were involved :the municipal governments of the five municipalities of the county Chelm (Chelm, Dorohusk, Ruda Huta, Sawin, Wierzbica) and 7 of the county Włodawa (Hańsk, Urszulin, Sosnowica, Stary Brus, Wola Uhruska, Wyryki, Wlodawa), the city of Chelm and Wlodawa, Polesie National Park, Polesie Landscape Parks Board, based in Chelm and Forest District: Chelm, Sobibor and Wlodawa. The project encompasses an area of about 1270 km ², inhabited by over 130 thousand. residents. Created network of horse tracks, tailored to the needs and abilities of each rider.

The trail is marked in accordance with the instructions PTTK, it represented, among others by a square of side 120 mm with white background and orange circle with a diameter of 60 mm.
